Allium crenulatum – is the Olympic Onion. A very nice small-growing species, not commonly offered from the Pacific Northwest with gorgeous rosy purple flowers – more intensely colored at the petal tips, whiter towards the inner parts of each flower. It flowers late May to July. The strap-shaped leaves are often serpentine and when grown lean in full blazing sun are sometimes infused with violet-purple. Site Allium crenulatum in full sun planted in any average well-draining garden soil. This is small enough for a trough and would be perfectly happy in the rock garden. If ordered in autumn your Allium will arrive as dormant potted bulbs.
