Aster ericoides
White Heath Aster
Plant Type:
SHADE PERENNIALSAster ericoides (now known, God help us, as Symphiotrichum ericoides) - An explosion of small white aster flowers studs the densely growing mounded plant from late summer well into October. The central axis at the center of each flower is usually red-violet. Foliage is small, heath-like. All in all the White Heath Aster is a handsome plant occurring over much of North America and even extends into northern Mexico. The size of this handsome late season bloomer is determined by the provenance of it origins though you can expect our stock to achieve about 3 to 4 feet. If you prefer a shorter stature don't be afraid to prune it back to approximately 12 inches in June. May be grown in full sun but is shade tolerant in average soil. Established pot grown perennial from cutting or division.
