Lysimachia clethroides 'Heronswood Gold'

Gooseneck Loosestrife

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Lysimachia clethroides 'Heronswood Gold' – Remarkable bright yellow foliage is the foil for the white summer flower spikes that often bow and bend gracefully. This tendency of the flowers is the inspiration for its common name, Gooseneck Loosestrife. The golden leaves lacking in a full dose of chlorophyll quell the usual aggressive tendency as found in its solid green counterpart. However, it will spread; careful siting will keep the smart gardener from ever ruing the day... This beautiful Gooseneck Loosestrife is a selection made at the original Heronswood Nursery and will brighten the part to full sun garden, border or semi-wild garden in glorious gold when planted in fertile soil. Contrary to common misconception this plant is NOT invasive; rather its tendency is to spread by underground rhizomes colonizing into patches but does not spread about by seed. Pot grown division.
