Blades by midsummer become bright, light green light but some leaves still retain a bright chartreuse coloration. Tussocks are evergreen. Brownish inflorescence occurs in late spring to early summer followed by blackish seeds. Nice, easy contrast plant or a weed-proof ground cover when massed it may be well employed as an edger in a border. It's a quick grower and will spread with alacrity creating an impressive ground cover in a relatively short amount of time. Luzula sylvatica 'Solar Flair' enjoys bony soils that contain some organic matter that retain moisture between rains but are adaptable to drier conditions. Low maintenance, it prefers sun to part shade. Established potted perennial from division.
