Thalictrum 'North Hill'

Meadow Rue

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Thalictrum ‘North Hill’ (ex: Seneca Hill) – Fluffy clusters of mounded mauve clouds open from deep lavender-purple buds, all floating above smoky purple stems to about 4’ tall. The pretty mound of foliage is refined and remains low resembling T. aquilegiifolium. It apparently does not set seed and may possibly be a chance sterile hybrid – but no one knows for sure. The plant originated in the beautiful gardens of Joe Eck and Wayne Winterrowd of North Hill Garden in Readsboro, VT and then was shared with Ellen Hornig from the now sadly defunct Seneca Hill Perennials. We miss you, Ellen. Site well-behaved and clumping Thalictrum ‘North Hill’ in full to part sun planted in any decent garden soil. If ordered in autumn these will arrive cut back. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised but might be okay... your choice, your responsibility. Established pot grown plant from division.
