Salix purpurea 'Pendula'

Weeping Purple Osier

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Salix purpurea ‘Pendula’ – Many stems are pendulous or at least horizontal with some stems vertical making a large, relatively low and wide-spreading shrub. We have our Weeping Purple Osier planted atop an old low New England stone wall (see picture #4) where it is resplendent in showing off its unusual form with many stems trailing downwards to the ground below. Oftentimes it has yellow autumn color before the leaves drop. Established pot grown shrub from cutting.
