Prunus besseyi 'Select Spreader'

Western Sand Cherry

Plant Type:

DECIDUOUS SHRUBS

Prunus besseyi ‘Select Spreader’ – This Western Sand Cherry selection is extravagant with white spring flowers which are attractive to bees and beneficial insects. They are followed by heavy crops of blackish fruit which feed the birds… the deer (not that we draw them) and other four-legged creatures, too. Its habit is wider than tall. And in autumn the attractive leaves consistently turn red. The dark purple-brown winter wood is decorated with multitudes of lighter colored lenticels. Plant ‘Select Spreader’ in any garden soil that drains sited in sun to mostly sunny situations. Cutting grown.
