Giant Sunflower

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Helianthus giganteus ‘Sheila’s Sunshine’ – 'Sheila's Sunshine' is a selection of Giant Sunflower with bright pale yellow single daisy flowers in an open, upright clusters blooming from late summer into the autumn. This plant grows at least 6’ tall for us and sometimes approaches 8’ to 9’. It is lovely with Miscanthus, any of the taller Joe-pye weeds, ironweeds and goldenrods. Site in full sun planted in any decent draining soil. Gradually increases and spreads. 'Sheila's Sunshine' will arrive mostly cut back if ordered in autumn. We acquired this beauty some years ago from the now defunct, sadly closed Niche Gardens. Potted perennial grown from cutting or division.
