Eupatorium purpureum (syn. maculatum) 'Joe White' – Attractively whorled coarse blade-shaped leaves layered in tiers are topped with beautiful large fleecy white flower heads in the late season garden. Grows easily to 7 feet and as with E. fistulosum 'Bartered Bride' is a great perennial paired with asters, ironweeds, and any of the tall yellow daisy flowers (as in sunflowers and Rudbeckia) which are abundant bloomers in the late summer garden, a prairie-like garden or the mixed border. 'Joe White' is a looker with butterfly bushes. The bees and butterflies will share in the bounty of all the aforementioned. 'Joe White' is a natural with tall warm season grasses. Site in full to mostly full sun planted in fertile moisture-retaining soil. Clumping with moderate increase. Division.
