Primula kisoana var. shikokiana 'Alba'

Primrose

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Primula kisoana v. shikokiana f. alba (also seen as Primula kisoana 'Alba' and var. alba) - This is the white flowering form of the Japanese Primrose. Each floret may achieve a diameter of a full inch. A lemon meringue halo surrounds the sexual parts. The interestingly-shaped hirsute leaves are distinctly attractive. They are the foil for the rounded clustered mound of white primrose flowers. The worthy Japanese Primrose (are there any unworthy Primula?) even shrugs-off the allelopathic agent, juglans, from Black Walnut Trees. Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive soil sited in dappled to open shade. As is true for many shade loving woodland perennials early morning or very late afternoon sun is okay. Our first batch of these have imported from Japan. Established pot grown Primula from division.
