Hedera helix 'Buttercup'

English Ivy

Plant Type:

VINES

Hedera helix 'Buttercup' - A beautiful bright waxy yellow-leafed English Ivy. We collected cuttings with permission from a now retired professor of agriculture at the UCONN agronomy station. The ivy climbed the side of a brick building. It immediately sent me into a sublime state of nostalgia, the feeling that I had been transported to an Old World English cottage in the countryside. I fell in love. So will you. Part to nearly full sun in fertile soil to sandy loam. It will tolerate some clay in the mix. Moisture retentive conditions are best. Add some fairytale to your life... Height will depend upon the structure to which it attaches. The last we heard is that research indicates that English Ivy does not erode concrete, brick or stone; rather, it's an old wives' tale... possibly an old world wives' tale? Can be used to ground cover as well. Established plant, cutting grown.
