Ilex glabra (MALE)

Inkberry

Plant Type:

BROADLEAF EVERGREEN SHRUBS

Ilex glabra (MALE) - This is a male Inkberry. He will be the pollinator for all the female cultivars we carry. Typical small tongues of virtually evergreen leaves on an upright, mounding shrub. Prune down every so often from one to two feet high and then let it go again for a few years for a broader, denser bush. If let go it will become leggy. The added benefit to occasional shearing will be more branching that will generate even more flowers. The bees will accomplish the rest. Full sun to part shade in fertile, draining soil. Established potted shrub grown from cutting.
