Streptosus roseus

Rose Twisted-stalk

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Streptopus roseus – is Rose Twisted-stalk found in moist woods, riverbanks and montane environs in Canada and eastern North America. Also known as Rose Mandarin the nodding 6-pointed pink bells dangle from pedicels at leaf axils. Red fruits follow in late summer. Attractive leaves alternate along the gently zig-zagging stalks. Rose Twisted-stalk makes a nice clumping, slowly spreading ground cover in cool shade. I have seen varying zone determinations for this worthy woodland denizen; we’re listing it as hardy in USDA zones 3 to 6. If anyone has information which might dispute this determination we would like to know. Rose Twisted-stalk is a clumping perennial with slow spread. Division.
