Sempervivum 'Pacific Red Rose'

Hens and Chicks

Plant Type:

ARID LAND PLANTS

Sempervivum ‘Pacific Red Rose’ – This is another beauty with relatively large rosettes of purple-red infused with just a bit of olive. The newest growth in the center of each rosette remains quite dark red. When the temperatures cool this form of Hens and Chicks turns a gorgeous deep dark burgundy red. This cultivar is much commented about and requested here at Quackin’ Grass when folks see it in the rock garden. Site in full sun planted in well-drained soil to a lean, gritty mix. 'Pacific Red Rose' is moderately slow to increase and does so in a clumping fashion. Grown from offsets or “chicks”.
