Rohdea japonica 'Fuji No Yuki'

Sacred Lily

Plant Type:

BULBS

Rohdea japonica ‘Fuji No Yuki’Each dark green leathery blade on this Sacred Lily is beautifully edged in clean creamy white. 'Fuji No Yuki' translates to "Snow on Mt. Fuji". The leaves can grow as long as 18 inches by up to 2 inches wide. Flowers are like squat, fat little corn cobs composed of tightly clustered light yellow-green florets. They open to reveal anthers, the edges of the orifice like little teeth surrounding the central pistil. Pollinated florets develop clustered red “berries” loosely resembling the fruiting inflorescence of Jack-in-the-Pulpit. Site in fertile to draining woodland soils. All Sacred Lilies are tolerant of dry summer soil. Plant ‘Fuji No Yuki’ in shade. As we expect that demand will out pace inventory please order early – it is likely we will ever have but few available and perhaps not in every year. Spring planting is strongly advised in the northern range - please wait. Shelter in the northern fringes. 'Fuji No Yuki' clumps with slow increase. Established pot grown division.
