Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Redhead’ – This form of European Fountain Grass blooms fully a month earlier than ‘Foxtrot’ with smoky red-purple inflorescences up to 10” long. Site ‘Redhead’ in sun planted in fertile moisture retaining soil for best performance. 'Redhead' is a bit earlier, a few inches shorter and darker in color than 'Foxtrot'. Clumping with absolutely no running tendency. Established pot grown plant from division.
