Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Little Bunny'
Dwarf Fountain Grass
Plant Type:
GRASSES & GRASS-LIKE PLANTSPennisetum alopecuroides 'Little Bunny' – A sweet, authentically miniature form of Fountain Grass that makes a dense, domed toupee of foliage. Middle to late season the silvery beige-wheat feathery inflorescence arise on taller stems and adorn the mound. The entire tuft turns beige in the autumn garden. The tuft is persistent as it is just too danged short to be smashed down by ice storms! 'Little Bunny' was spotted among seed-grown progeny of 'Hameln'. Useful in the front of the border, as edging almost anywhere an edger is needed and beautiful in the rock garden. Plant 'Little Bunny' in fertile, draining soil in full to mostly sunny sites. Drought tolerant once established. Established pot grown plant from division.
