Pelargonium hortorum 'Bird Dancer'

Geranium

Plant Type:

TENDER PERENNIALS

Pelargonium hortorum 'Bird Dancer' – We've had a pot of this marvelous plant for 15 years. Finally, we thought to propagate it. Masses of clustered starry, spidery light salmon pink to pastel coral pink flowers rise above and cover the foliage in spring and summer. The foliage is two-toned. There is a maroon-burgundy zone in the green bird foot-like leaves. In winter the foliage in our cool greenhouse takes on red hues on stocky green branched stems. In a container on our deck in summer it seems happiest in morning sun / afternoon shade. For us as a virtual window sill plant it's lovely all the year round. Half to full sun in draining, gritty soil. This is another plant with a lousy, misleading common name, geranium. Pelargonium is not geranium cranesbill. Keep it drier in winter. Cutting grown.
