Hacquetia epipactis – is an uncommon early spring blooming woodlander proudly displaying clusters of golden-chartreuse umbels surrounded by bright green bracts. Rounded tongues of deeply lobed leaves growing upwards of 1’ tall then emerge following the curious flowers. Our plant has broadened its claim on the land very slowly. This European woodlander grows densely, dense enough to thwart weeds. This sweet perennial has remained about 3 inches tall. Plant Hacquetia epipactis in moist, humus-rich soils in open shade sited in dappled to morning sun exposures. It exhibits some summer drought tolerance once established. Hacquetia grows about 1 foot tall and gradually carpets. In the north spring planting is strongly recommended. Pot grown by division.
