Eragrostis trichoides
Sand Love Grass
Plant Type:
ARID LAND PLANTSEragrostis trichoides – Sand Love Grass is a lovely, upright narrow-bladed warm season grass topped with a gorgeous, delicate and airy purple-amber 8” to 10” tall haze of inflorescences from mid to late-season. The small seeds appear suspended in the airy feather looking like a constellation of deep dark amethyst jewels. Multitudes of inflorescences form a lovely hazy cloud floating above the foliage. It’s a beauty in full blazing sun planted in very sandy loam to sharp-draining impoverished scrabble; too much dampness will rot them. Established plant from division.
