Arisaema thunbergii subsp. urashima

Dominatrix Jack-in-the-Pulpit

Plant Type:

BULBS

Arisaema thunbergii ssp. urashima – The hood and upper portion of each pitcher is dark purple while the vase of each is greenish for an unusual, dramatic and striking two-toned affect. From the mouth of each pitcher is an 18-inch long dark purple whip. Arisaema thunbergii ssp. urashima is fetching despite her common name, Dominatrix Jack-in-the-Pulpit... or should it be Lady Jackie-in-the-Dungeon? Leaves are dark, lustrous green swords, 11 to 15 in number set in a virtual peltate pattern like spokes radiating from the top of each stem. This is one very cool woodlander for the shady, dappled or part sun garden planted in fertile ground. Pot grown bulb.
