Amsonia ciliata "Arkansas Form" (ex: Will Forster) - Lovely, feathery stems in medium green turn gold in autumn. Blue flowers top the stems in spring. This form is full to nearly full-sized, remains relatively compact and vertical with a handsome vase shape that tends not to splay. A mature specimen can measure 5 feet across at its top. It is not var. filifolia. Collected originally in Hot Springs, Arkansas by Dr. Frank Emert. Will Forster received a plant from Mr. Emert who resided in Vincennes, Indiana. The plant has thrived and colonized for both. Full sun in draining, sandy loam. Amsonia ciliata in all of its forms is native from North Carolina to Florida, west to Missouri, Arkansas and Texas. Established perennial via old-fashioned division or cutting grown.
