Silphium perfoliatum 'The Holy Grail'

Indian Cup Plant

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Silphium perfoliatum 'The Holy Grail' - Bright yellow-leaved form of Indian Cup Plant. Bold in the mixed border this tall stunner will provide exceptional contrast to green or purple-leaved plants. As a foil to dark-colored flowers it will only enhance and underscore their presence. The foliage which emerges chartreuse soon loses the green subtone, the bright yellow emerges in full and glows through the growing season. Yellow composite flowers in midsummer to early fall add lace and texture to this striking perennial. The yellow daisies draw bees and occasional butterflies. Goldfinch will harvest the late season seeds. Full sun in fertile, draining ground. Long ago I embraced yellow in the garden.Pitted against various shades of green it accents and enriches. Bright. Sunny. Warm. Engaging. Established potted Cup Flower from division or cutting. If you live in NY state we regret that we cannot ship this plant to you. Very sorry.
