Oxalis regnellii 'Irish Mist'

Wood Sorrel

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Oxalis regnellii 'Irish Mist' - All green triangular leaves are heavily overlaid and finely stippled in silver-white. There is a line of green following the central vein on each of the three lobes. Wood Sorrel is also commonly called Shamrock... Shamrock, indeed! Clusters of pink to white funnel-shaped flowers on tender stems rise above the leaves and flower for a long time. Good potted windowsill plant but is garden worthy in USDA climate zones 7 to 10, possible 6b in a sheltered situation. We actually accidentally dropped a piece of O. regnellii in the border that runs along the south foundation of our home; it has erupted annually for years now. We are USDA zone 5b though the garden where O. regnellii sprouts is a warmer microclimate to be sure. Adaptable to soil but keep drier during dormancy when potted. Part shade to mostly sunny exposure though. Established potted Shamrock.
