Silene alpestris 'Flore-pleno'

Alpine Catchfly

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Silene alpestris 'Flore-pleno' - Pure white double flowers with the edges of all petals appearing as if the woodland fairies in the middle of the night scalloped them with pinking shears... those little imps! The lovely mid to late spring flowers are reminiscent of double florist carnations but in miniature. The foliage stretches into a cushy, semi-glossed deep green mat. It's seriously cute and pretty... useful, too. The Alpine Catchfly is great for edging a sun-filled garden, along a sun-drenched walk, dotted in a rock garden or used as edging before taller plants. Sandy to bony average to somewhat impoverished conditions; too rich and moisture retentive a siting will cloy roots and crown resulting in rot. The species originates in the Eastern Alps. Pot grown by division.

This from Dan S. (MO) on 4.29.2019: "I would like to thank you for the meticulously packaged and carefully shipped plants. They arrived and are in lovely shape. Your customer service will not be forgotten. I will be purchasing from your operation again."
