Agave parryi subsp. truncata

Agave

Plant Type:

ARID LAND PLANTS

Agave parryi ssp. truncata This is considered to be one of the most beautiful among the amazing Agave clan. A red-brown serrated edge decorates each light powder blue-gray tough, fibrous, broad blade ending in a sharp glossy red-brown spike. The deep, warm color of the spines contrast in striking beauty to the matte finish cool blue of the flesh. All agaves are sculptural and add strong architectural presence and beautiful color in any application. Parry's Hardy Century Plant will grace any succulent collection in a container or as a year round living sculpture in the full sun garden. Well-drained fertile soil amended with coarse grit for added drainage. Keep drier in winter. For gardeners towards the northern end of its range spring planting is advised. Established pot grown offsets.
