Chelone lyonii 'Hot Lips' – Pink Turtlehead. This selected form displays reddish stems which mostly remain all through the growing season. Leaves emerge with a red-bronze cast and settle back to a deep, dark glossy green. Mid to late season clustered turtle head flowers are a beautiful pink to purple-pink. Full sun to dappled shade in fertile, moist soil. Pink Turtlehead is an easy, tough perennial. May be used in the shady to partly shaded garden or possibly adjacent to a pond - just don't drown it! Cutting grown.
