Aneomonopsis macrophylla (ex: Seneca Hill) – Bluish lavender flowers dangle and dance on purple-black wiry stems in late summer. They are delicate and florid with the central light lavender to whitish cup edged in a darker shade. The flowers do loosely resemble a lovely cross between anemone and epimedium, given that such a cross would be possible! A Japanese woodlander and a choice one at that Aneomonopsis macrophylla prefers fertile soil consistently moist in a moderately sheltered situation. Plant Aneomonopsis macrophylla in part to full shade. Division or seed grown.
From Janet M. (MA): A thank you. You recently sent me an Anemonopsis Macrophylla. It was a lovely and large plant. I don't think I've ever gotten such a nice large plant via mail order before - usually a plant such as the one you sent you get only by going to a nursery. Thank you so much!
