We stumbled upon this striking white New England Aster in one of our gardens late season in 2023 in first flush full bloom. In that first flush some of the flowers dispalyed a double set of fine petals. Of course we were excited by this find. It was clearly happy in the spot from where it had sprung. It was obviously too late in the season for cuttings nor did we dare dig up and pot a piece of it. When we went to look for it the following spring it was gone, disappeared. We repeately returned to the site in hopes of finding even a small piece of it having sprouted but to no avail. I still sigh when I see the pics. It woulda, coulda, shoulda been a Quackin' Grass original. Rest in piece 'October Ghosties'. Sigh...
