Pachysandra procumbens 'Eco Picture Leaf'

Allegheny Spurge

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Pachysandra procumbens 'Eco Picture Leaf' - Nice form with some leaves coloring red to bronze-red in the late season on this virtual evergreen. The red color remains. 'Eco Picture Leaf' exhibits slightly different leaf mottling. Early fragrant spring bottle brush flowers in lovely, light pink to white complete the picture. Another winning plant selected through the eyes and capable hands of Don Jacobs whose Eco Gardens in Decatur, Georgia have been so very important to serious gardeners and collectors most especially in North America. Site in part to dappled shade planted in fertile soil. If planted under deciduous woodies we have found that in moist, draining and friable ground that Pachsandra procumbens stands up beautifully in winter with an extravagance of kaleidoscopic markings in all leaves... just wonderful in fall and winter. A touch of drought tolerance is demonstrated but, please, don't push your luck! Established pot grown from division.
