Dipelta floribunda – Rosy Dipelta produces light pink funnel flowers, each with a yellow throat in spring. The flowers are soon followed by seed capsules covered with a paper-like sheath set among the long leaves. This shrub of easy disposition develops exfoliating bark – certainly not “killer” interest but not bad in the winter landscape either! Rosy Dipelta is a large-grower suitable as a component in a wildlife hedgerow or in back of a larger mixed border. This shrub is an unusual member of the Caprifoliaceae, not commonly offered. Established potted shrub, cutting grown.
