Deinanthe x 'Biig Pink'

False Hydrangea

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Deinanthe 'Biig Pink' - Tall growing and very large-flowered selection. As with one of its parents, D. bifida 'Pink Kii' the flower buds are pink. Upon opening there may be a touch of baby pink in the flowers however they soon fade to white. 'Pink Kii' is shorter in stature and very charming. 'Biig Pink' is taller and bolder. Both are beautiful. Depending upon your aesthetic needs and tastes both are worthy. This is a recently introduced cultivar from the capable hands of Ed Bowen. The double "ii' in "Biig" alludes to the double "ii" in 'Pink Kii' from which this new offering is descended. Part to open shade in fertile, moist ground. Established potted Deinanthe from cutting. Not al all drought tolerant this choice perennial's foliage if and when it goes dry will weep and sag as will another herbaceous hydrangea relative, Kirengeshoma palmata. Established potted herbaceous perennial, cutting grown.
