Delosperma 'Fire Spinner' - Single daisy-like flowers composed of many narrow petals are a shocking tropical gaudy mix. Rich orange outer petals with a broad interior ring of magenta transitions to a bright white to pinkish white circleat flower's center. Smothering the succulent green foliage in late spring to early summer this has a "wow" factor of 14 on a scale of 1 to 10! It was brought to the U.S. by well-known Panayoti Kelaidis of the Denver Botanic Garden. As it was found South Africa's East Cape near Tarkastad above sea level at 6,000 feet and above it may very well be hardy in USDA climate zone 5, albeit with dryish winter conditions. This is an evergreen mat-forming perennial terrific in a container or rock garden. Full blazing sun and well-drained, impoverished scrabbly soil. Cutting grown.
