Asarum takaoi 'Ginba'

Japanese Wild Ginger

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Asarum takaoi 'Ginba' – This little beauty comes from Japan with 2-inch spade-shaped hearts of heavy-textured leaves entirely overlaid with pewter. It is a choice addition to a most interesting and aromatic genus. 'Ginba' will slowly form a dense, evergreen... or should I say evergray ground cover in the fertile, humus-rich conditions in which it thrives. Like a two-inch deep pool of molten silver this handsome ginger will spread into a low mat over time 'Ginba'. Japanese Wild Ginger will tolerate some morning sun, albeit early morning, but this is a shade loving species. Established potted ginger grown from division.
