Cardamine pentaphyllos

Showy Toothwort

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Cardamine pentaphyllos (also seen as Cardamine pentaphylla) - Attractive pinnate leaves are the foil for four-petaled light purple flowers. Medium pink-purple flowers open early to mid spring on short racemes on the Showy Toothwort. The foliage exhibits a glossy finish with each leaflet grandly serrate. Very nice in the woodland garden in fertile, moisture retentive soil. If content it will gradually form an impressive colony. Early to mid-morning sun to dappled shade is perfect. Established, potted Showy Toothwort from rhizome.
