Allium victorialis 'Cantabria' AMH.7827 - A broad-leaved onion with attractive globes of white touched with light green, each 2.25 inches diameter. These occur in late spring. Leaves exude a glossy sheen growing up to one-foot tall by 3 inches wide. This is not a weedy onion but will pup up and form a nice colony over time. The Victory Onion or Alpine Leek found in the mountainous regions of the Caucasus and the Himalayas is also native to Alaska and British Colombia's thin strip of coastline. 'Cantabria' was collected in mountainous Northern Spain. Full sun in average, gritty draining ground. Established, potted Victory Onion from bulbil.
The Ornamental Onions are a large group with many garden-worthy species. We’ve selected some that have performed well for us. Most require full to nearly full sun in most any average garden soil. The addition of lime is helpful in acid soils. All our Alliums are offered as pot-grown flowering-sized bulbs from our stock plants.
