Erigeron speciosus 'Azure Fairy™' - 'Azure Fairy' commences flowering in late June. Flowering all the summer long is this pretty composite with light purple semi-double daisy-shaped flowers. Petals are narrow, plentiful and surround the sequestered gold to golden orange central disk. Flowers top a dark blue-green bushy mound with the unfortunate common moniker, Fleabane... Guess the fleas don't like it; so maybe it's fortunate after all. Maybe a bane to fleas but courts butterflies. Easy in full sun in an average to sandy / gritty soil, a mix that drains well. Really good drainage is fundamental. This is a non-fussy perennial, satisfying and ask yourself: how many herbaceous perennials flower from late spring until late summer? The species covers a wide range in western North America, south into Mexico. Established potted Fleabane from division.
