Trillium walepolei / billingtonii - ​A lovely Trillium thought to be a naturally occurring hybrid between T. flexipes and T. erectum collected in Michigan. White flowers are flushed pink to red-purple with a concentration of the coloring towards the base of the recurved petals. Flowers are subtended with three green sepals. Sexual parts are white and may be touched with pink but the stamens are barely-flushed with cream. It's warm, gentle and lovely. Trillium walepolei / billingtonii may exhibit hybrid vigor... not a bad quality for a Trillium! Good woodland soil with humus mixed in. A leaf litter mulch will augment and reflect its natural setting. Plant a couple inches deep but not too deep in the recommended soil. It should drain - wet feet are not a good idea.
