Ranunculus acris 'Flore-pleno'

Double Buttercups

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Ranunculus acris 'Flore Pleno' - Double Yellow Bachelor's Button provide long bloom covered in deep golden yellow dime to nickel-sized double pompoms swaying above a carpet of nice foliage. This is a sterile form; it does not self-sow... BUT it will colonize and makes a great filler plant where deep golden yellow buttons aplenty are desired. They will provide a bright and enriching foil among larger, bolder perennials. Seems a good choice for the English garden and would make excellent accentuations in a cut flower bouquet. Listen, folks... common names gone wrong - these are not Bachelor Buttons which brings to mind Centaurea cyanus. If common names are your bent then Double Buttercups seems more apt. Site in sun planted in average to fertile draining soil. The species is found in Europe to West Russia. Where this double, sterile form may have been stumbled upon we do not know. But it's a good, low maintenance easy-to-please perennial that will work well and behave among other garden companions. Established pot grown plant from cutting.
