Cardamine trifolia

Three-leaved Bittercress

Plant Type:

SHADE PERENNIALS

Cardamine trifolia (ex: Jonathan Lehrer) Three-leaved Cardamine also known as Three-leaved Bittercress forms a charming evergreen ground cover. Lovely white cruciferous flowers with a granny smith apple-green heart arise from April to June on stems topping off at about 8 inches. The foliage follows maturing dark green with a deep purple underside. Also known as the Woodland Lady's Smock this handsome little guy... or gal is perfectly content in part to deep woodland shade planted in fertile to sandy, moist soil and adaptable to Ph. This is likely to be a named selection though when Jonathan Lehrer ran across it there was no cultivar name attached. It really is sweet. Regardless, this Cardamine trifolia is ever so worthy... Species originates in Central and Southern Europe. Established pot grown plant from division.
