Asparagus pseudoscaber 'Spitzenschleier'

Lace Veil

Plant Type:

SUN PERENNIALS

Asparagus pseudoscaber 'Spitzenschleier' (may also be seen as Asparagus officinalis var. pseudoscaber 'Spitzenschleier' ('Lace Veil') - Beautiful and feathery Asparagus, 'Lace Veil' makes a graceful, soft counterpart to bold-leaved plants in your most coveted section of the world: your landscape. Stems are upright and may lean away from the imaginary central axis providing for a very gentle affect, loosely vase-shaped. Erupting in midsummer are tiny greenish-white flowers which are perhaps touched with pale yellow. These may give way to red autumn berries that adorn all stems while the gorgeous green turns bright golden yellow. Not only for softening contrast in a garden situation, Asparagus pseudoscaber 'Spitzenschleier' makes terrific cut stems in flower arrangements. And it may be used as a houseplant though bear in mind this is not an edible Asparagus; in fact, it is poisonous to pets and humans alike. Site in part to full sun planted in fertile, draining soil. Established pot grown by division.
