Rhazya orientalis – Asian Bluestar carries its large rounded domes of blue star-shaped florets displayed on rounded domes in late spring to early summer. These open from dusky blue buds. It blooms later but overlaps with our native Bluestars, the wonderful Amsonias. Rhazya orientalis slowly wants to form a colony but not in an obnoxious manner. It is beautiful in a wild garden setting, in the perennial border, ground covering beneath shrubs and with grasses. Site in full to mostly sunny conditions in fertile, draining soil. Said to appreciate lime ours seems perfectly content without it. Cutting grown or Pot grown division.
