Maianthemum dilatatum var. nipponicum – Small spikes of white, lightly fragrant florets arise above emerald green heart-shaped leaves in early spring. Green berries gradually become speckled and eventually mature red. Leaves are shiny to glossy and generally paired but sometimes are single and occasionally emerge in threes. This makes an endearing glossy ground cover in woodland shade. Provide a fertile, draining soil and watch this perennial carpet your your garden into a cool forest floor. Pot grown division.
